Demonstration and Taster session at Linnet Clough Explorer Winter Camp in Marple January 2012

On Saturday 28 January a group of Ashton fencing Club coaches and members attended the Scouts Explorer Winter Camp at Linnet Clough to give a demonstration and provide the opportunity for the scouts to try fencing.

It proved a busy day with about 100 scouts taking part in the hourly sessions that ran throughout the day. Our fencers enjoyed the opportunity to share their sport with a very enthusiastic audience who after working our how to kit up in fencing dress quickly got down to the task and after being taught some basics were soon fencing each other for the first time.
